official mission statement:
To build schools in the most rural regions of Nepal, emphasizing bathroom facilities at each school to promote the education of girls and therefore advancing literacy and vocational training programs to empower underprivileged children for a better future for themselves, their families and for the country of Nepal. We feel by helping Nepal achieve a better standard of living for the poor, we can decrease problems associated with poverty-stricken countries, including terrorism and extreme fundamentalism, and child-trafficking.
In addition, HANDS hopes to expand our program from school building to providing a safe house where girls can live while receiving an education and provide vocational training and assistance for a cooperative business that sustains them.
We also seek to support scholarship programs that will enable orphans to stay in school and receive an education to help them progress into jobs.
