We are sponsoring six children from BCH starting this year, and we plan to stick with and follow them through their education for the following 3-4 years. There are 3 girls and 3 boys and they are all doing well in their classes, which is why they were chosen for the scholarships, at Durga’s request.
The girls names are:
Susila, grade 8, and she told us he dream is to be a nurse.
Sabina, grade 6, she explained that one she would like to teach.
Samjhana, grade 5, wants to be a doctor.
The boys names are:
Surendra, grade 7, would like to be a pilot one day.
Sushan, grade 6, wants to go into business.
Sobit, grade 6, who turned out to be an amazing singer, but also said he would like to one day be an engineer.
All the children share the same last name, Dubas. In Nepal the last name also tells you what caste a person belongs to, and when we asked Durga what Dubas caste was she said she invented it for the children and that it means “in the care of Durga.”
