In March 2013, HANDS in Nepal combined forces, resources and love for learning with Mark Pinoli of Logged OnFoundation. Logged On is an Australian non-profit organization dedicated to bringing computers and the Internet to remote Nepali villages.

In Astam, which is located outside of Pokhara, Nepal and back dropped by the stunning Annapurnas, Mark and his team decided to establish a computer lab in a neglected and abandoned building. HANDS established a library in the same building for the Shree Bhumeshwor School. We hired local laborers to rain-and-dust proof the structure, build shelves, and reading areas. We then stocked the new library with books in Nepali and English, plus solar lights, for the village children and adults to read and work by.

We our looking forward to another project with Logged On; please stay tuned.
